The live television audience saw Mexico’s undefeated, 24-year-old superstar Rafa “Gifted” Garcia (11-0) of Mexicali become the first Combate Americas world lightweight (155 pounds) champion in history by earning a unanimous decision over Erick “Ghost Pepper” Gonzalez (10-4) of Los Angeles, Calif. after an action-packed, all-out war.
